For many, business cards are just cards that have names printed on it. This is actually correct since these cards do have designations, names, and details of a person on it. What is it for? Many have asked.

The use of business cards has stemmed from a history dating back as far as the 1800s. Since the birth of the business cards, variations of style, appearance, and information displayed have been manifested. These apparently insignificant cards actually serve as good formal initiations and are good memory aids for acquaintances. It should be very effective since it has been used for several years already.

Since pretty much everybody has business cards, it can be challenging to make a great first impression. Here are some points to make great and lasting first impressions through your business card:

Incorporate a logo – If you don’t have a logo now, you might want to consider asking a professional graphics designer to create a simple yet effective logo that serves as the essence of your company. That way, seeing the logo on your card will remind people of your company almost instantly.

Make text easy to read – One of the errors people make is to have a business card that is heavy on the design aspect but has often fallen short when it comes to legibility. The point of the business card is to introduce yourself and make yourself be recalled. Therefore, it is best to have legible text on the card.

Bright colors get attention – When your business card is stacked among other vying business cards, it does not help to have a card that can easily be mistaken for a scrap of paper. If you use bright colors, your business card will have a bigger chance of being noticed compared to the common looking ones.

Use high quality card-stock – The card quality of your business card is important since the cheaper and low quality ones often give the impression that your company is not yet well established. With lower quality paper, chances are customers may think that the company is not yet thriving.

Strategy may be necessary a bit, but you will be able to get pleasant results out of excellent made business cards. Everything will finally pay off for one small cardboard.
